DUETS i.

A Mouse, The Mouse

piero spadaro gallery is pleased to introduce Duets, a new exhibition series exploring moments of unexpected resonance across artists, media, and time. True to the gallery's mission of drawing connections between diverse practices and periods, each presentation focuses on a point of crossover: a shared person, place, thing, or idea.

For this inaugural pairing, works from 1997 and 2014 find common ground in the enduring figure of Mickey Mouse. Through markedly different approaches, both artists engage the character as a site of projection, mythology, and cultural memory. Their works suggest that icons achieve permanence not through stability, but through their capacity to be continually reimagined.
