Our exhibition showcases a dynamic range of artistic practices that explore the fluidity and power of water as both subject and medium. Through pencil, paint, and mixed media the featured works highlight the intricate interplay of line, weight, and form to evoke the essence of water in its many states.

The collection builds layers of meaning through the accumulation of artistic gestures, creating new visual basins that bridge abstraction and realism.Spanning both contemporary interpretations and echoes of past decades, Bodies of Water invites viewers to immerse themselves in the tension between the natural and the conceptual, as artists reinterpret this elemental force through their own unique lenses.

Featuring new pencil drawings by Katherine B. Young, paintings by Alexandra Bailliere, Addie Shevlin and Debbie O'Brien, in dialogue with celebrated works from the secondary market by Roy DeForest, Pat Steir, Judy Pfaff and others.
